A dedicated husband to wife Mattie and father to 4 boys (Shane, Wilbur, Byron and Keyunta)
Rev Dawson pastored 7 churches over the span of 44 years in both Texas and Louisiana. He always had a giving spirit. From an early age, being the baby of 12 children, his mother taught him to always give to others. Even though they had plenty of mouths to feed she would always have food for anyone that was hungry or needed help in the neighborhood. Rev Dawson continued this tradition by taking money out of his own pocket and feeding the hungry and less fortunate every Thursday morning through his church at the Shadows Of The Cross in Shreveport, LA. He also never took a salary at the church so all the resources could be dedicated to helping others and those who were in need. Rev Wilbur Dawson passed away on June 12, 2020 and we want to continue his tradition of helping those who are less fortunate in the Shreveport community. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the Shadows Of The Cross Feeding Program to support our endeavors of serving others for the next year.
