Help Rev. Africa Lynn Nesbitt-Gaines Bring Healing & Hope to Kenya

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

My name is Rev. Africa Lynn Nesbitt-Gaines—a community advocate, ordained minister, activist, artist, chef, and graduate student in theology. Since 2008, I’ve been centering the marginalized through beauty, food, faith, and action. This November 2024, I’ve been invited to join the Christ Moves Now mission in Butere and Maseno West, Kenya, where I will serve alongside local leaders, students, and healthcare workers to bring healing, hope, and tangible support.

This opportunity isn’t just a trip—it’s a calling. A continuation of the ministry, advocacy, and care I’ve dedicated my life to. From classrooms to pulpits to kitchens to the streets, my work has always been about standing with the vulnerable and helping people rise.

During this mission, I will:

• Help provide school fees for students who otherwise wouldn’t have access to education

• Visit homes of families living in poverty, offering spiritual support and financial assistance

• Serve and pray with patients and staff at local hospitals and maternity wards

• Support youth leadership development and offer teachings grounded in love and dignity

• Collaborate with the Anglican Church of Kenya and faith leaders to nurture a sustainable partnership for future support

Last year, this mission funded full tuition for 34 students, supported widowed parents and under-resourced households, and uplifted entire communities through faith and compassionate presence. This year, I am honored to carry that torch forward.

To make this possible, I need to raise $4,000 to cover:

• Flights, lodging, and transportation

• Meals and basic travel needs

• Donations for school scholarships, maternity care, and essential supplies

• Teaching and outreach materials to offer encouragement and build connection
