Hello, My name is Amanda Conrad and on Thursday January 30th I received a phone call from Buffalo General Hospital saying that my mother Deborah Roberts (71) was found unresponsive and may not make it through the night. She was immediately placed on life support, due to a very bad heart attack along with other issues such as high blood sugar in the 1000s and her organs beginning to fail. I have not seen my mother in almost 18 years due to being adopted as a teenager and not allowed to continue visitation with my biological family. I have gone my entire adult life thinking my mom was already gone and I was just going to find out one day. Well that time has come and I am SO grateful and BLESSED to be able to spend the end of her life with her. It's been extremely emotional as I'm also reconnecting with what family I do have left biologically. I am asking for ANY and all help for me to give my mother the burial she deserves. This was extremely unexpected and the retirement home she was at had no previous end of life arrangements made. I am begging, I just want to take my mom home after this all ends. As of today Sunday Feb 2nd I am writing this at her bedside my eyes filled with tears as I signed DNR paperwork and for her to be taken off Life Support. She is sleeping peacefully and we are hoping she will make it through the night so she can be moved upstairs to Comfort Care and pass comfortably with her family by her side. Please help in any way you can, even a share this woman means so much to me and deserves the world.
