Meet Nala! She is a 5 year old beagle from Mexico City. Her family moved to Canada in August and were unable to bring her with them. They have been apart for 7 months and are having a really hard time without her. They have attempted multiple times to bring Nala to Victoria, BC from Mexico City. Due to safety concerns with the weather Nala was turned away at the gate for the second time, despite confirming with the airline in advance. She is currently staying with family but they are not able to look after her long term.
We have a dog ourselves and understand how difficult it is to be away from your pet even for a couple of days. We also know the family personally and can see how difficult this is for them, especially the kids.
So we would like to support them by fundraising for:
- A return flight to Mexico City from Vancouver for 1 person plus the pet fee
- Ferry to and from Vancouver
- The vet bill to get her certificate of health in order to fly (this has to be issued within 5 days of travel)
- Transportation costs to and from the vet
If the main goal is met we will also pay for:
- Reimbursement for expenses for the most recent attempt
