It's been a year. A year without my family.

In March 2021 I lost my job. I pay the bills. Unfortunately, it took a long time to find another professional position. I have a narrow career - museums. I did not get COVID19 unemployment because governor Stitt decided that people in Oklahoma did not need that money. That drove my credit card bills up. I finally landed a job and relocated to Indiana, but my teen, who had changed schools five times in five years (moved for a job, moved for a job, moved because our house had a structural problem, COVID19, and then to Jr. High) weirdly did not want to change schools in the middle of the year. Thus, I left and they stayed.

We listed our house for sale in April and our water heater went out, after I had spent tens of thousands of dollars restoring our beautiful 1917 house that I did not want to leave! We got an offer fairly quickly, then at the very last minute in June the buyers pulled out with no cause. I consulted lawyers, but all said I would never get back the damages they caused because they were wealthy and could drag on a lawsuit forever. They wouldn't even sign over the escrow. I am fighting for that.

Then the economy started to tank, interest rates rose and the values fell. I had to dramatically reduce our sale price. In the meantime, I have been paying rent and mortgage for ten months! We finally got an offer. Great! Now maybe we can move forward and be together. In the tough market in Indiana where I am at, by some grace we found a house! There literally has been zero rentals in our price range and but a couple houses. It felt like a miracle getting an accepted offer on a house here! My teen likes the school (LTGBQ+ friendly), loves band, we are set, except then our boiler broke, then my car broke down (battery and thermostat), then my husband's car broke down (suspension), then my kid broke his glasses, then I got sick and needed tests and labwork (diabetes), then our dog got sick (severe skin rash), then the cats (puncture wound, UTI)! Now I do not have enough to pay for the move! (I got some relocation from my work, but that all went to the extra rent). Please help us all be together! The moving costs are over $4,000. I need to raise $3,500. My credit is maxed out. I don't know what to do.
