Cindy and Ximena are from El Salvador and have been apart for almost a month now.  They were separated shortly after entering Texas.  Cindy, the mom, remains in a detention center near McAllen, awaiting her bond to be set any minute now.  While Ximena has been transfered to a children's facility in Arizona.  This intelligent little girl's voice was captured on a border patrol's recording, obtained by ProPublica, giving the officers her aunt's phone number and asking them to call her to pick her up after dinner.  Cindy and Ximena have been able to  communicate by phone every few days, but for a little girl who has only spent two nights away from her mom, her entire life, this is just too much.

How will the funds be used:
In order to reunite Cindy and Ximena, Cindy's bond needs to be paid. This will be between $7,500-15,000.  Also, mom or aunt will have to pay Ximena's travel expenses of about $2,000 and any other fees owed to the US government.  Cindy and Ximena's attorney, Thelma Garcia is providing her legal services free of charge and will need to travel to represent Ximena in Arizona.  Cindy and Ximena will need lots of support and encouragement while their cases are pending.        
   
I know many of you have already donated to similar causes, but please don't get tired of doing what is right, and more importantly what is humane.
