Hello and Håfa Adai,
My name is Jerrica Sablan. I am a proud mother of four beautiful children and a stepmother to our amazing oldest daughter from my husband’s previous relationship. I’m writing this with a heavy but hopeful heart to share our family’s story.
Two years ago, life was good. My husband Christopher and I were both working hard every day to provide for our family. We made ends meet through dedication and determination, and we were happy just being together.
Then, in October 2023, everything changed. Christopher was rushed to the hospital because his body was severely swollen, and he was having trouble breathing. After many tests, doctors diagnosed him with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) — the cause of the swelling. They told us he would need dialysis three times a week for the rest of his life. It was a shock, but we adapted to this new reality because we knew it meant keeping him here with us.
Just one month later, in November 2023, another devastating blow came. Christopher began having serious problems with his vision. After seeing a specialist, we learned he had retinal detachment in both eyes. He underwent surgery on both, but tragically, he lost his left eye in the process and is now permanently blind. With this, he was officially classified as disabled.
Now, Christopher is preparing to relocate to Texas to begin his journey toward better health and continued dialysis care. Sadly, due to financial struggles, the children and I cannot go with him — not yet. The distance will be incredibly hard on all of us. Our goal is to raise $6,500 to cover airfare for our whole family so we can be reunited with him in Texas and be by his side during this difficult chapter of his life.
We are humbly asking for your help — whether it’s through a donation of any amount or by sharing our story with others. Every little bit brings us closer to being together again. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us, and we are deeply grateful for any support you can give.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading our story, for caring, and for keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers. May you all be blessed with love, health, and happiness.
With love and gratitude,
Jerrica & the Sablan Family
