Reunite Alex Logono with his ailing father
Donation protected
Dr. Alex Logono is an intern at Natividad Family Medicine Residency whose journey to medicine has not been an easy one. He is originally from Sudan, and during the Second Sudanese Civil War, he was one of 20,000 Sudanese young men known as the “Lost Boys of Sudan” who were displaced and endured treacherous journeys to reach refugee camps. Through resettlement programs he was able to come to the United States, where he set out on his goal of pursuing a medical degree, with hopes of returning to Sudan to help rebuild the medical infrastructure that has been devastated by years of civil war.
A few years back he was able to locate the family he lost during the Sudanese Civil War. His mother and siblings were found in a refugee camp in Uganda, where they continue to reside, and his father is still living under difficult circumstances in Sudan, which continues to be ravaged by the instability of a civil war. Throughout his training, Alex has supported his family by sending a monthly stipend while incurring the heavy expenses of medical school.
Alex recently has learned that his father was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer, and has been given a very poor prognosis. He is hoping to travel to see his father whom he has not seen in a number of years. As a resident physician he lives on a modest income, living check to check in order to support numerous members of his family abroad. He has no savings to rely on for difficult circumstances such as the one his family is currently enduring. Alex has gone through unimaginable hardships and through the strength of his faith has been able to overcome significant adversity. This GoFundMe campaign is being launched in hopes of raising funds to help cover his father’s cancer care and allow Alex to travel to see him. Thank you for your support!
