Salam Everyone,

My name is Sara, I am a Palestinian/Canadian and I'm working on this fundraiser on behalf of the Sobh Family in Gaza.

Why I'm fundraising

Alaa Sobh is only 7 years old, but she and her family have suffered terribly at the hands of the occupation during this ongoing aggression against Gaza.

The Sobh family comes from Northern Gaza, and the parents are blessed with 7 children. Much like most people in Gaza, they were struck not once, but twice by the occupation’s war planes. They have been displaced twice and are currently living in a tent in the south.

As a result of the strikes, many members of their family have been martyred.

Alaa lost her grandfather, uncles and aunts in the massacres on her family. Furthermore, she and her father were severely injured, while her mom and siblings suffered lighter injuries.

After the first strike, Alaa’s left arm was broken. However, after the second strike, they had to amputate her left arm.

Alaa managed to be transported to Egypt and then to Turkey to continue to receive treatment accompanied by her maternal aunt.

However, her dad, who also suffered a major injury to his left arm, has not received the treatment he needs and risks having his arm amputated if he does not get the needed medical care.

Alaa has been pleading to the world for almost 2 months to support her dad to be able to join her, and receive the surgery he needs in order to SAVE his arm and avoid amputation.

The Sobh family (except Alaa) now lives in a small tent in the South with barely any form of life.

The impact of your support

I am trying to raise around 9,500 USD (approximately 13,800 CAD) to allow Mr. Ahmad Sobh to travel to Egypt, reunite with his daughter Alaa, and have the needed surgery performed on his arm.

Here’s the breakdown of where your contributions will go:

$7,600 for Rafah Crossing Permit for Mr. Ahmad Sobh. (Sadly this ‘cost’ keeps going up)

$600 for the fees of travel and transportation from Gaza to Egypt.

$1000 for basic personal expenses (food, accommodation, clothing, for Mr Sobh and his remaining family members)

Approximately $300 to cover GoFundMe transaction fees (%2.9 + $0.30 per transaction)
