Reubon Kelly

My name is Paris Parker and I’m creating this gofund me on behalf of my cousin Reubon.

Reubon was involved in a horrific accident early Saturday morning in Slidell, LA. while driving home with his friends due to bad weather causing his car to collide with a large truck. He lost one of his brothers in this accident . His other two friends suffered traumatic injuries and are also hospitalized. Reubon was immediately airlifted from the scene of the accident to the Trauma Unit at University Medical Center of New Orleans due to a collapsed lung and a severe hip displacement, pelvic fracture, as well as a femur fracture. He sustained other injuries as well but these are some of the major impacts we know of so far. He had a procedure to reset his hip and has an upcoming surgery due to the hip displacement causing a severe bone defect. He is currently in a immobilizer, as any movement could be detrimental to his ability to walk. While it is a complete miracle that Reubon is alive, he has a long road of recovery ahead of him. He spent this summer at home working while on break from college. He attends Meridian community college and is an active member on the basketball team. He is heartbroken due to the loss of his brother. Reubon was going to attend his senior year of college next week but this accident and his injuries will not allow him start school as planned or basketball at this point but We are thankful that he survived this tragedy. We will not focus on the complexities of his injuries but our focus is on helping support him through this process. Reubon is facing mounting medical bills and is currently without a car as his was totaled in the accident. His mom has had to take off work to be by his side in this hospital which is out of state. This is a very difficult time our family. Reubon is such a wonderful good-hearted kid who is always thinking of others. I would like for him to know that his mom and some of his bills will be taken care of so he can focus fully on his recovery.
