Hi, my name is Reuben and I am 12 years old. I am thrilled to the moon and back to have been given the opportunity to go on an expedition of a lifetime to Kenya in 2027, with my school and Camps International.

As part of this 4 week trip, I will be taking part in a range of community development projects, environmental initiatives and conservation work all linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Examples of projects I could be a part of include:

* Helping install elephant deterrent fences.

* Working alongside local craftspeople to build or renovate housing or schools.

* Planting indigenous trees to provide habitat and food sources for wildlife.

In addition, there will be opportunities to work alongside local people to learn about their culture and traditions as well as sustainable solutions to local and global issues and understanding the challenges Kenyan people face.

Furthermore, there is also a week's course to gain a PADI 1 scuba diving qualification.

When I heard about this trip, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. I am an huge animal and wildlife lover and travelling was something I dream of. I have been strongly considering a future career in marine biology, and the opportunity to begin that with the PADI qualification would be an incredible start. I really hope to see a turtle wild in the ocean, especially as this was my first big word as a toddler!

This is not just a chance to go on holiday but to be a part of something positive, to feel part of the change, to help the wildlife I love so much and to become a global citizen. To come

home with a broadened view of the world, new skills and friends and lifelong stories and memories.

In order to achieve my goal of taking part in this incredible experience I need to raise £5190. This will all be a part of the learning and experience too!
