Returning a stolen vehicle to a Lakota Matriarch
Donation protected
I am Mark Kenneth Tilsen and I am raising funds to help out my mom Joann Tall and her husband Tom Flynn, get the return of their truck paid for. Her vehicle was stolen from Porcupine, South Dakota and didn't resurface until it was at an impound lot in Gardnerville Nevada. The cost of shipping and lot fees has been very high and insurance will not pay any claims or help with the costs. Legal action may be needed. Right now I am trying to raise funds to recoup the loss. My mom Joann Tall and her husband Tom are on tight fixed incomes, they are elderly and retired.
My mom Joann Tall is a Veteran of Wounded Knee ‘73, she made it through the boarding schools era alive, she’s been fighting for land and water before I was born, and she won the Goldman Prize in environmentalism for fighting against uranium mining and weapons testing in the sacred Black Hills. She’s been standing in solidarity with other indigenous struggles, went Chiapas to build with the Zapatistas, flew to Ireland to meet with Sinn Fèin, and was at the overthrow of the Oglala Sioux Tribal Government “since day two” of the occupation of the BIA and Tribal buildings. She is a warrior for sure.
At an age when she should be playing with her great-grandbabies, she has to deal with this hardship. I am asking you to help my mom.
