Return Amelia Blossom Pegram to South Africa
Donation protected
I'm fundraising to return my mother to her place of birth, the home that never left her heart, the home where she fought for freedom, and a muse to her poetry: South Africa.
Amelia Blossom Pegram was exceptional.
Amelia was born October 3, 1935 and died May 11, 2022. Her wishes were not to have a viewing because in her words, ``If you could not look up to me in life, you don't get to look down on me in death." Instead she wanted a celebration and for her ashes to be taken home to South Africa.
Amelia Blossom Pegram wanted so much to be home where she fought for freedom against Apartheid. Where she grew up climbing Table Mountain. Her deep connection and devotion to South Africa and human rights can be seen in the poetry she wrote and the speeches she gave on South Africa.
For Amelia Blossom Pegram being put to rest in the country of her birth was very important for although becoming an American Citizen she always connected to South Africa.
In order to help to bring Amelia Blossom Pegram home, help is needed… if you feel that you can help in this great work, it is greatly appreciated. The cost of shipping remains to South Africa cost $15,000-$20,000. All money raised will go toward my mom's "ticket" and mine to accompany her remains.
