Rettet Mac – Unser kleiner Kämpfer gegen FIP

Hey, ich bin Cara und ich brauche eure Hilfe für meinen Kater Mac.

Zusammen mit meinem Freund haben wir im Januar Mac und seine zwei Geschwister aus dem Tierheim adoptiert. Seitdem sind sie unsere Familie geworden– voller Quatsch, Kuscheleinheiten und Liebe. Mac ist jetzt 1,5 Jahre alt – noch jung, neugierig und eigentlich mitten im Leben. Doch dann kam die Diagnose: FIP (feline infektiöse Peritonitis).

FIP ist eine fiese Viruserkrankung, die lange als unheilbar galt. Mac hat schon Wasser im Bauchfell und seine Haut wird langsam gelblich. Er musste sogar schon zwei Nächte in der Tierklinik bleiben zum stabilisieren – das war für uns alle richtig schwer. Aber: Er kämpft! Er schnurrt, verteilt Kopfküsse und will einfach leben.

Ich wünsche mir so sehr, dass er bald wieder mit seinen Geschwistern spielt, durch die Wohnung flitzt und faul in der Sonne auf der Fensterbank liegt.

Die gute Nachricht:

FIP ist behandelbar – mit einer speziellen, leider teuren Therapie. Die Medikamente kosten allein um die 1.500€. Dazu kommen Tierarzttermine, Blutuntersuchungen und alles, was dazu gehört. Und weil die Medikamente in Deutschland (noch) nicht offiziell zugelassen sind, ist es extra kompliziert.

Deshalb frage ich euch:

Wenn ihr ein paar Euro übrig habt oder die Aktion teilen könnt – ich wäre euch unendlich dankbar. Jeder noch so kleine Beitrag hilft Mac auf seinem Weg zurück ins Leben.

Hey, I’m Cara and I need your help for my cat Mac.

My Partner and I adopted Mac and his two siblings from the animal shelter back in January. Since then, they’ve become our little cat family – full of cuddles, chaos, and love. Mac is now 1.5 years old – still so young, curious, and full of life. But then came the diagnosis: FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis).

FIP is a nasty viral disease that used to be considered untreatable. Mac already has fluid in his abdomen and is starting to show signs of jaundice. Just recently, he had to spend a night at the animal hospital – it was tough for all of us. But the amazing thing is: he’s still fighting. He purrs, gives head bumps, and shows me every day that he’s not ready to give up.

More than anything, I want to see him playing with his siblings again, running through the apartment, and soaking up the sunshine on the windowsill.

The good news:

FIP can be treated – but the treatment is expensive and complicated. The medication alone costs around €1,500, not to mention all the vet visits, blood tests, and check-ups. And since the meds aren’t officially approved in Germany yet, getting them is even more difficult.
