Help Our Dad Regain His Independence After Amputation

Our incredible dad – a retired firefighter who spent his life serving others – now urgently needs support himself.

In recent years, he’s been diagnosed with both leukaemia and CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy), a rare neurological condition that’s caused significant muscle wastage and made mobility a daily challenge. Despite all of this, he’s carried on with strength and determination.

Earlier this year, things took a turn for the worse. He underwent a partial foot amputation, and there’s a real possibility he may lose more of his leg in the near future. Life has changed dramatically, and without the right equipment, he’s unable to get around safely or maintain any sense of independence.

To help him live with dignity at home, he urgently needs a lightweight mobility scooter and a stair lift. These will allow him to move around both inside and outside the house, but as a retired firefighter living on a modest pension, he simply can’t afford them.

Our dad has always been the one helping others – whether in the line of duty or as a loving, dependable presence in our family. Now, we’re asking for help on his behalf. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference in helping him stay mobile, safe, and independent.
