Our Dad is a retired Police Sergeant with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He served the community for 34 years. He always enjoyed being there to help people and is always still willing to help anyone. His happiest time was with our brother Nick when he graduated from the police academy in 2001. They had so many plans of working together as well as talking about the different things that happened on duty. All of this changed when Nick was killed on January 30, 2004.
Our parents have been happily married since 1971. We have always admired that they have always helped anyone in need and even though we didn't have a lot of money growing up, they always made us feel like we had everything. They were always so supportive and made growing up fun. The five of us were always close. They have been through our Mom's health issues and the death of their son.
2015
December -Terry had prostate cancer surgery at Barnes Hospital West. Even though we were all worried, we thought once the surgery was done that would be all.
2016
March -our family was introduced to a very rare cancer, Plemorphic Sarcoma of the left thigh which is also very aggressive. He had surgery at Barnes Hospital followed by 30 treatments of radiation.
2017
April - Pleomorphic Sarcoma metastasized to the upper left lung. He was diagnosed as Stage 4 and had surgery at Barnes Hospital.
2018
March -Pleomorphic Sarcoma metastasized to the left lung and the area of the left kidney.
June - Our Dad started chemotherapy treatment at Barnes Hospital
When he met with the doctors regarding his chemotherapy, he agreed to do a clinical trial of the effects of the chemotherapy on the heart. This will hopefully help people in the future fight against Sarcoma.
Our Dad has always been our Superhero, risked his life for the community for 34 years and now is in the fight of his life. We are asking for your help with this as our parents would never ask for help. The money that will be donated would be used for the mounting medical bills, traveling for the treatments for the clinical trial study and other expenses that may arise.
Thank you in advance for your donations, prayers and comments. We truly appreciate anything that you can do.
