Restoring the Andrews
Donation protected
Our dear friends and perhaps yours, Craig and Karen Andrews, contracted COVID-19 (Delta variant) in August 2021 and while Karen soon recovered at home, Craig did not. Craig was placed on the ventilator twelve days after being admitted to the hospital with severe breathing problems and was given very little to no chance of surviving. At that point, no patient with the Delta variant that went on the ventilator at that hospital had survived. Miraculously and as an answer to many prayers, Craig overcame very serious obstacles along the way including kidney failure, blood clots, and multiple infections and was eventually successfully removed from the ventilator. He was transferred to a step-down facility in San Antonio still in a very serious condition and then finally to a rehab facility in Austin; Craig is scheduled to return home on November 6th. With the progress that Craig is making, we are hopeful that he may be able to return to work in early 2022.
While the Andrews have health insurance, they incurred considerable out of pocket expenses through this process and will continue to through his recovery; not to mention the loss of Craig's income for an extended period. We created this fundraiser so that friends of Craig and Karen have an opportunity to contribute money and help them rebuild their lives so they may share their encouraging story of healing, faith, and miracles through the dark hours of a serious illness.
