I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart and a lesson I never thought I’d have to learn. Recently, I fell victim to a financial scam that took almost everything I had.

It began with a high-pressure phone call and a series of emails from individuals posing as law enforcement, claiming there was a warrant for my arrest for missing jury duty. In a moment of sheer panic, confusion, and naivety on my part, they were able to convince me to ignore the warning signs my gut was telling me and withdraw most of the money I had —$16,436— in cash and paying the “fine” via Bitcoin. By the time I realized the "officers" were predators, the money was gone. I immediately started working with the police and my bank, but the conclusion is bad: because I withdrew the money in person, that money is pretty much gone.

The financial and emotional toll of losing the money that my mother left me has me beside myself. I am not looking to replace everything I lost, but I am asking for help to bridge the gap while I get my life back together.

I am looking to cover the immediate cost of living for the next month. This will allow me to keep my head above water without falling into debt while I begin the long process of rebuilding what was taken.
