We are restoring native forests in the Peruvian Andes near Pisac, beginning in the community of Cuyo Chico. This project focuses on bringing trees back to barren and degraded land while supporting local families with regenerative, long-term forestry practices that restore ecosystems and provide lasting benefits.
Our approach combines native forest restoration with productive fruit tree systems, allowing communities to care for the land while also benefiting directly from it. We are planting a diverse mix of native Andean trees—such as queuña, molle, chachacomo, qishwar, pacay, pisonay, sauco, and capulí—alongside fruit trees that provide food and future income.
In many areas, families currently earn very little from existing forestry practices—often around 100 soles per year from eucalyptus plots. By transitioning to fruit tree systems, families can earn 2,000 soles or more per year, while also producing abundant food for their households and communities. This shift creates a much stronger economic foundation without sacrificing the health of the land.
At the heart of the project is a regenerative tree nursery designed using permaculture principles, producing strong, locally adapted trees that are ready to thrive once planted.

Why This Matters
This project is about bringing forests back while creating real, lasting benefits for the people who live there. By starting in Cuyo Chico, we are creating a visible, measurable model that can be expanded into other communities across the Andes—restoring native ecosystems while replacing extractive forestry with regenerative, productive systems.
Every contribution helps plant trees, restore land, and build a more resilient future for the Andes and the families who depend on them.
