Many neighborhoods in the Tampa Bay Area suffered catastrophic devastation from Hurricane Helene and then we were hit a second time is less than 2 weeks with Hurricane Milton. As residents of the Bay Area for 40 years I can say that we've not seen this level of destruction in our area and our community has along road to recovery ahead. Homes have been flooded and families have lost EVERYTHING. Many don't have flood insurance and the ones that do will likely wait months for resolution. In the meantime these peope are reeling from the destruction and don't even know where to begin. Our mission with this GoFundMe is to get resources (fans, dehumidifiers, food, toiletries, and essentials) directly to community members in need as restoration companies are already backed up and want THOUSANDS of dollars and aid is slow to reach the people in need. We will be transparently sharing and accounting for EVERY PENNY raised via our social media platform @TampaFlippers on Instagram (most of our IG posts also feed directly to Facebook but Instagram is the platform we actively use).
