If you have ever had the privilege of knowing our mom, Hinano Andre, then you know there truly aren’t enough words to describe her. She is the heart of our family—a woman whose life has always been defined by grace, kindness, unconditional love, and an endless willingness to care for others.

She is the person who will give the shirt off her back to someone in need. She is the first to offer a helping hand and the last to ever ask for anything in return. For as long as we can remember, our mom has put her family and the people she loves before herself.

Today, we are reaching out because the woman who has spent her life taking care of everyone else is facing a season where she needs someone to take care of her, too.

Recently, our mom was targeted by cruel scammers who impersonated IRS agents. They manipulated her into believing she was dealing with legitimate government officials and ultimately drained her entire bank account, taking away the savings she had worked so hard to build.

And unfortunately, this happened at a time when our family was already facing so much.

Our dad recently became an amputee after a lifelong battle with diabetes. Through everything, our mom has been by his side, caring for him full-time, helping him navigate recovery and this enormous life change, managing his day-to-day needs, and doing everything she can to keep their home and family moving forward.

Then, on her way to see her grandchildren, our mom was involved in a car wreck. What should have been a simple trip to spend time with the people she loves instead became another unexpected hardship, bringing additional stress and expenses at a time when she was already stretched beyond what anyone should have to carry.

Despite all of this, she continues to put one foot in front of the other. She continues to care for our dad. She continues to worry about everyone else. And, as she always has, she tries to carry it all quietly.

But she shouldn’t have to carry this alone.

We created this GoFundMe to help our mom with essential living expenses, household bills, transportation, medical-related costs, and the everyday necessities that continue to add up while she cares for our dad.

Our goal is to give her something she desperately needs right now: a little breathing room.
