Help the Rogers Family Rise From the Ashes

Some people enter our lives and leave a lasting impression of kindness and warmth. For me, it's this loving family that has been there for me since I was a child. They haven't only been there for me, but for everyone who knows them. They embody such an amazing and loving spirit. This family has been my second family for many years, and I have watched them time and time again help those around them without a moment's hesitation, with endless open hearts and a light that is never dimmed but shared amongst the community.

On April 23, 2026, our world changed forever when a devastating fire ripped through their home in a matter of minutes. Watching the fire eat away the foundation of so many memories was heartbreaking, but it can never compare to the weariness, fear, and tiredness that have formed in their hearts.

Though the foundation was damaged, the memories created remain. This tragedy has left them with only the clothes they ran out of the house wearing. The cause of the fire remains unknown. What is certain is that this family deserves so much and needs help to start this new road ahead.

Everything was lost — furniture, keepsakes, their sense of security, and the place they called home for many years. Despite their brave efforts to stay strong and persevere, no family should have to rebuild their lives alone. That is where you all can step in.

Every dollar donated will directly assist this family in finding safe, stable housing and beginning the process of rebuilding their lives. This isn’t just about providing four walls and a roof—it’s about restoring dignity, peace of mind, and hope for the future.

They aren't only battling the outcomes of this, but Mama Jan, as I call her, also known as Janyce Mays-Rogers, or Janyce Garland, has dedicated her life to caring for others by providing shelter and support to many. Recently, she has been diagnosed with leukemia and lymphoma and has battled lupus throughout her life.
