As a catholic parish social minister on long island each day, we are entrusted with the most sensitive situations that directly impact individuals' and families' hearts. In the past two years, I have worked with many young adults (college students) suffering from severe anxiety and depression. These students are brave, hardworking and honest; however, these components of mental health that come to visit them often prevent them from reaching their full potential. With proper care from mental health professionals we have now identified, we can help restore dignity and hope and see them accomplish their goals and be a lighthouse for others.

There are so many requests and so few finances to keep this vital and life-saving ministry afloat. So therefore, I am sending out this very heartfelt and sincere prayer to help me help these students and, by virtue, support their families and find hope and healing together.

Funding for the students is an urgent need. But unfortunately, unfortunate outcomes can rear their ugly heads without proper help, prayer, wisdom and guidance. But, together, we can do our part to ensure that each person's dignity is cared for to the highest level.
