Restoring Hope: A New Beginning for our Family

Donation protected
In these challenging times, we find ourselves reaching out to you on behalf of our father, who has been battling significant health challenges. He recently underwent a leg amputation that has intensified the hurdles he faces, and we are turning to your kindness for support.

My dad receives a PWD fixed income that falls far short of covering the cost of a wheelchair accessible unit, utilities and other necessary living expenses. This fixed income on top of managing Type 1 diabetes, Colitis, a permanent colostomy bag, Gastroparesis, heart disease and multiple heart attacks has taken an immense toll on his physical and emotional well-being.

He has been forced to vacate his previous rental as it was not wheelchair accessible and couldn't meet the needs of his new situation. After nearly 6 months in the hospital, he is on the brink of relocating to a shelter, a terrifying situation given the ongoing pandemic and his many health issues.

Despite our tireless efforts exhausting ALL resources as his family, the financial strain and the urgency of finding suitable housing have become overwhelming. Recognizing the shared challenges many are facing, we hesitantly reach out for assistance, knowing that everyone is navigating their own difficulties during these uncertain times.

As we share our story, we acknowledge the widespread difficulties many are experiencing. If circumstances allow, we would be deeply grateful for any support you can provide, whether through a donation or by sharing our campaign within your networks. We understand that these times are tough for many, and any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and a profound impact on my dad's life.

The funds raised will go towards the following:

  • Securing accessible housing, including covering necessary deposits and any required modifications to enable wheelchair accessibility
  • Purchasing a wheelchair
  • Healthcare including dental and vision
  • Ongoing occupational therapy
  • Transportation in order to access part time employment

Thank you for considering our plea and for the compassion that binds us together as a community. Your kindness can be a drive of hope for my dad and our family during this challenging chapter.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Brianne
