Restoring Home After Water Main Flood

Donation protected
On Sunday morning, a 12-inch city water main burst at the top of my mom and stepfather’s street, sending thousands of gallons of water per minute rushing straight toward their home.

Within minutes, their basement windows were blown out. Water poured in like a waterfall, filling the entire basement.

Everything was destroyed.

Their furnace. Their water heater. Personal belongings. Irreplaceable sentimental items. Years of their life—and our family’s memories—gone in a matter of hours.

Outside wasn’t spared either. Their yard was torn apart. Their fence is gone. And their home has been left with severe damage.

And the hardest part?

This wasn’t a natural disaster.
This was a city infrastructure failure.

Yet somehow, they’re being left to carry the burden.

Their homeowner’s insurance has denied the claim.
The city’s insurance company is also denying responsibility.

So right now, a hardworking, taxpaying family has lost so much—and is being told, in so many words, “too bad.”

They are doing everything they can to hold it together. My stepfather has managed to get some things running so they can stay in the home for now—but there are still so many unknowns.

No one can say if the foundation has been compromised.
No one can guarantee the long-term safety of the home.
And if problems show up later, they’ve already been warned those could be denied too.

They are stuck in a situation no one should ever have to face—emotionally, physically, and financially.

We are asking for help to get them through this.

Donations will go toward:
• Cleanup and debris removal
• Repairing critical home systems like heating and water
• Replacing essential belongings
• Addressing structural damage and making the home safe

If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would mean everything.

This should never happen to anyone—but right now, it’s happening to them.

Thank you for taking the time to read, share, and support in any way you can ❤️
