The 470- Railroad Club has purchased a GP9 #72 (formerly Boston and Maine 1741) built in July 1957. Properly maintained, this locomotive is capable of producing 1750 HP. At this point in time, this is one of only 4 remaining B&M GP9s.

The plan is to restore this engine to the level shown in the picture, and will take major work and replacement parts to achieve this goal.

Donations from The Edmunds Foundation of $10,000 and the Mass Bay Web Grant was a big factor to where we are today. The club thanks these two contributors for their donations!
