Restoring Dignity- Fighting For Janet Wesley

Hi, my name is Maria Castro.
We’re asking for your help regarding our friend — Miss Janet Wesley!

Janet has had her life turned upside-down. What should’ve been the golden years of her retirement are now being spent alone and afraid. She has been forced against her will by the state to spend the rest of her years in solitary confinement at a care facility.

She is without family, without friends, without freedom — and she needs YOUR help.

Janet spent her entire career in the aviation industry spanning more than 54 years. She worked as a flight attendant for Eastern Air Lines, Pan American World Airways, and most recently, Southwest Airlines, where she finally hung up her wings at the golden age of 72 in 2022.

Within a year of retirement, Janet started being monitored by a neighbor, whom Janet considered her friend. Janet confided in this neighbor about her massive savings and finances. This neighbor was fully aware that Janet did not have any children or close family members.

Without Janet’s permission, her neighbor, capitalizing on Janet’s deteriorating health, called the Tampa Court in Florida to obtain guardianship of Janet, claiming she could take care of her. This action from the neighbor led to Janet being assigned guardianship by a total stranger from the court of Pinellas Guardian Association. The court deemed Janet “incapacitated” due to dementia.

This guardian placed Janet into a memory care facility, giving the guardian total autonomy over Janet’s assets. This appointed guardian sold Janet’s home, RV, and Lexus and was now in control of her bank accounts and holdings — all without Janet’s consent.

While we continued to visit our dear friend, trying to keep her spirits up, (for reasons unknown) Janet has moved to another senior care center. She is alone and has no way of communicating with the outside world. Her guardian refuses to return our phone calls or tell us where she is residing. We are extremely concerned for Janet’s well-being and state of mind.

We are petitioning the court to revoke this exploitative guardianship. An attorney is going to cost $5,000-$10,000.

We’re urgently seeking your help! If you can help, please donate, or pass this on!
