Our concept is simple: A traditional coffee house pursuing 21-century sustainable, ethical, eco-friendly business practices. A plastics-free business using organic, locally-sourced ingredients. Partnering with like-minded Maine businesses and reinvesting a percentage of profits to environmental organizations for the good of our planet. We will partner with One Percent for the Planet and pursue B Corp status to confirm our commitment to the environment.

Our organic coffees will be small-batch roasted just a few miles away by two sons of Maine. Organic teas will be sourced exclusively from Fair Trade growers. Our primary baked goods will be prepared in-house daily with upcycled grains. Our sandwich breads and other pastries will be supplied by one of Maine's newest and most impressive bakeries. Our walls will showcase the works of local artists. Our welcoming vibe will be unmistakable.

It's a new mission and a new vision with a new hands on owner who believes in empowering the staff to be a part of building something new on the shoulders of a well-established past. We are looking to update and repair some of the existing cafe equipment (12k), create a safe and efficient working area for our employees (5k), redo the service counters and lighting (2.5k), upgrade electrical and plumbing systems to conform to safety standards (2k), purchase opening inventory (7k), and have a two-month cushion for rent and payroll (21k).

This is the beginning of Brunswick's new coffee house...The Tree & Star.
