Hey everyone!
My name is Chidimma Grace Matthew, a Nigerian-American track and field athlete currently training with my sights set on the LA 2028 Olympics. I plan to proudly represent Nigeria on the world stage.
I started running at 14, drawn by the freedom track gave me. I competed at La Salle University and the University at Albany, holding top records in the 200m and relay and becoming a 9-time America East Champion.
In 2021, I faced a personal loss and paused my athletic and academic journey to heal. During that time, I served in nonprofits like Harlem Children’s Zone and Covenant House, empowering young women and families to overcome barriers and rebuild their lives.
These experiences shaped my mission: to show that everyone deserves a second chance. Past struggles do not define your future — they prepare you for greater purpose.
Today, I’ve completed my Master’s degree in Political Science (Law and Policy) and am returning to track after four years away from competition. I run for those who’ve been told it’s too late, with my eyes set on the LA 2028 Olympics. Your support would help cover coaching fees, travel, housing, and training essentials.
