Hi, my name is Megan, and I’m reaching out with a prayer to help my beloved cat, Ziggy.

As of recently, I decided on getting a second opinion for Ziggy and the symptoms that he has been experiencing.

-depression

-loss of appetite

-weight loss

-dehydrated/constipation

-sleepy and hides under bed

-loss of mobility/walking

The first neurologist wanted to do MRI and biopsy which was estimated cost of $5000+. Evidently, it was extremely steep to pay for and even more so that insurance won’t cover any visits due to being within a 14 day waiting period.

Receiving advice from my family and friends, I got a 2nd consult and had him tested for specific virus/disease. The blood work was POSITIVE for FIP ( FELINE INFECTIOUS PERITONITIS ) and a disease that the DR. is not too concerned about that at this moment.

Ziggy is not just a pet, he’s my companion, my “papita”, my emotional support, and the little kitty I never thought I would love so much! He still tries to play when he has the strength and still looks at me with the same love, but his little body is failing him. It hurts so much just the thought of him being in any pain or discomfort.

His new neurologist has recommended a medication called GS-441524. There is high success rate and could possibly cure him of this virus. There is only one FDA approved drug that is nearly $2500.

I’ve already spent everything I could on emergency and veterinarian care leading up to this point, and I simply cannot afford this on my own. That’s why I’m turning to you friends, animal lovers, kind strangers and anyone who understands what it’s like to love a pet like family.
