Restore Zach's Sight: A Life-Changing Cause
Donation protected
I have so many amazing friends and family that have loved and helped me and Izzy through some pretty rough surgeries and recovery.
But this time, Izzy and I are advocating for another family member. Izzy's uncle Zach, my TWIN brother, who we are extremely close to, is battling with Retinitis Pigmentosa, meaning he is legally blind and is slowly losing all his sight, and will be completely blind.
There's also many people I know this will reach, that know Zach, and know what a special, amazing person he is. Always one to brighten the day no matter what you're going through, he is unforgettable and absolutely loved by sooo so many. He is a father of two beautiful children, and I think we can all agree being blind and taking care of kiddos is an absolute chore we could never fathom; especially if there's a way we can HELP.
We have found a clinic that can do an extremely crazy surgery, a retinal prosthesis. Basically, 'bionic eyes'. It will give him some sight back, and hopefully stop it from getting worse so he doesn't go completely blind!
We are in the process of getting paperwork, insurance, and an appointment made, so it's all in the works right now. But this will be an amazing opportunity to help someone who deserves the world, and to be able to SEE the world. We are hoping the insurance works out and will cover the surgery, or at least most of it. The procedure outright is 70k . We are planning on doing benefits and fundraisers if we need to cover a lot. But we NEED this. Zach needs this. It will be a complete life changer for him. And he deserves it.
So if anyone can donate, even the smallest amount, to everyone this reaches, it will mean the world to us. It will mean the world to my brother. The closest clinic that has availability is in Minnesota, so we will be looking at travel expenses too, so literally anything will help! Please share, get the word out. We will be going different routes to try fundraisers too, but please pray the insurance does most of the work, because if not, we are climbing an absolute mountain to make this a reality. Izzy and I, and all our family, will be forever grateful to anyone that can help us on this new mission, to give my brother his eyesight back.
