For generations, the Wayne County Fairgrounds Horse Arena has been the heart of our community. It’s where young riders found their courage, alumni created lifelong memories, and families gathered. From 4-H and county fair shows to the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association (MIHA) district meets, this arena has shaped decades of riders and continues to bring us together year after year.

But today, the arena needs us.

The past few years of heavy storms have washed away much of the essential sand footing, leaving the arena in need of repair for horses and riders. Without immediate action, this season’s events — including the MIHA district meets starting September 13th — are at risk. Our riders deserve a safe and secure arena, just as those before them had.

We are setting a goal of $3,500 to purchase and deliver new sand for the arena. Every dollar raised will go directly toward the Horse Arena so that our young riders, alumni families, and the next generation of horsemen and horsewomen can carry on the tradition.
