Please Help Restore the Goldfish Mural

As many of you know, my mural on 24th and Hoyt was hit by some of the most severe vandalism I've ever experienced. Over 150 square feet were covered with spray painted scribbles and words covering almost every flower and fish I painted. I was speechless and teary. The mural is over 45 feet long and the graffiti stretches 30 of those feet. I never dreamed that someone would vandalize a mural this badly.

 

But I won't let it stay that way.

 

I would like to restore the mural to a new and greater beauty, as well as cover it with a full-proof anti-graffiti sealant. The money raised will go to paint, the sealant (which unfortunately isn't cheap), and the hours spent to repaint it. I am currently a full-time student with  no income, but I am committed to restoring the mural. Gratefully, friends have offered to help me paint, and with these funds we can get it back to it's beautiful self soon! Anything you can give would mean the world.

 

I would like to begin repainting the mural starting the end of next week before anymore vandalism happens. Please send funds as quickly as you can so I'll know if the repaint is possible! Anything helps, $10 or $20?

 

The building it's painted on is the Mattress Lot, and while my mural was defaced, their windows were also smashed by bricks. It's a family owned business, and yet they were more distressed by the mural tagging than their own windows. If the funds exceed the asked amount, a percentage will go to help them with their window costs. It's thanks to them I got to paint the piece in the first place.

 

Again, anything you can give will help. This piece has become such a landmark in this part of town, and the defacing has been a devastating blow. All I want now is to make it better.
