In the early morning hours of August 25, 2023, a vandal destroyed all of the dialysis machines, computers, and electronic equipmentinside the DRG Dialysis Center in Fayette, Mississippi.

The DRG Dialysis Center is a small business owned by two partners who are dedicated to providing quality health care for everyone in the state of Mississippi. This small rural facility is the sole provider of dialysis care to members of this underserved community and primarily services locals who have kidney failure. Rural communities across the country have limited access to health care services; a problem that is only increasing as more and more hospital systems close their outposts.

These typically elderly patients require frequent dialysis services in order to survive. Until the dialysis center can acquire new machines and equipment, these patients must now travel to facilities in cities across the state, to receive this critical care. For the many who do not have reliable transportation, this is an incredible hardship and will deeply impact their quality of life and ability to access care.
