Urgent Help Needed: Get Gerise & Rebecca Back on the Road!
Our Goal: $1,500
Losing their only car was a devastating blow to our mother-in-law, Gerise, and sister-in-law, Rebecca. They are now in a desperate situation. Without transportation, Gerise cannot get to her full-time job, which is over an hour away, and Rebecca cannot take her three children—including her son and twins girls which 1 of them needs regular, crucial specialist appointments across the state—to the doctor.
We, [Heather (daughter/sister) and [Kevin] (son-in-law/brother-in-law), want to help them, but we cannot afford the repair costs ourselves. We've come up with a plan that is only possible with your support.
The Plan: A Race Against Time
We have a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country van that is in decent shape but needs a new engine. Thankfully, a friend who owns a mechanic shop has offered us an incredible, life-changing deal:
He will donate all the labor to pull the old motor and install the replacement motor for free.
We have found a used engine for $350, but it could be sold at any moment. If we miss it, the next available motor will cost $650, adding immediate pressure to our timeline. The difference in motor prices is due to miles on motor. And we started with the cheapest just to get them going. Our mechanic friend also is giving them, his discount on the used engine. The mechanic shop is making absolutely nothing on this.
We are in a desperate race to raise these funds before the cheaper engine is gone. Getting this van running is the only way to immediately restore their stability.
Here’s Exactly Where Your Donation Will Go:
Every dollar raised will be used to get this reliable van back on the road and legally transferred to their names:
Replacement Engine: $350 (If bought immediately) OR $650 (If the cheaper one is sold).
Essential Fluids: Oil, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, steering fluid, etc.
Title Transfer & Fees: State-mandated fees to put the van in their name.
Insurance Deposit: Necessary deposit to start a new policy. (Their old policy was about $130-$140/month.)
Contingency Fund: To cover any unexpected small repair issues or the higher-priced engine cost. Any existing funds will, be applied to get them 6 months of insurance up front as its cheaper to do that. It will save them monthly payments..
Our Goal is $1,500.
The 2006 Chrysler Town & Country is ready for the road except for the motor. We had recently replaced the entire suspension (front and back), all new hardware, and the tires are less than seven months old.
Why This is So Critical
Just four months ago, Gerise and Rebecca had two running vehicles. Difficult times forced them to let one go, and then they lost the remaining car in an accident. They have fallen on hard times and need a hand up to regain their independence.
Your donation means:
Job Security: Gerise can reliably drive to her full-time job an hour away.
Health and Safety:
Rebecca can get her children to their local checkups and, most importantly, drive her son/daughter to the crucial specialist appointments across the state.
Please help us get this van fixed and put them back on the road to stability.
Any amount helps us get closer to that $350 engine and secures their future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering a donation and for sharing their story.
