Hi, my name is Sharon. I live in eastern Tennessee alone with my best friend, Tucker (dog).
I am here to ask for help from anyone caring to help my cause.
My situation is that I desperately need to have a major spinal surgery.
I have severe scoliosis that is rapidly getting worse. I am in constant pain, and at times it's so bad it is hard to function much at all. My right leg is now 6" shorter. I also now have problems with my bladder and stomach, unable to eat much due to the scoliosis.
If you know the pain scale, I live with an 8 or 9 on most days, some days over a 10.
My reason for asking for help is because of the medical costs involved, co-pays for a week in the hospital, transportation, and lodging. I do not have the funds for these costs.
I need my life back, so I can walk my dog again, walk in the Great Smoky Mountains, dance, and just do regular things to live again.
Imagine having trouble just to take a shower, brush your teeth, make food to eat, do basic things. Constantly needing to sit down to relieve the pressure on my spine and legs.
I have a surgeon in Florida that specializes in the surgery that I need. My whole spine from my neck to my tailbone will be fused together to correct my condition. Pretty major, but I welcome it, as the life I have now is no life. This will progress to the point where my diaphragm and lungs will be affected. So, I need to have this done no later than the first of the year in January 2026.
I thank you for reading my story. I tried to keep it short, yet there is so much more that this disease is doing to my life. I honestly will not want to go on if this progresses much further, and I'm sure you would feel the same way if you were in my shoes.
I thank you with all my heart for any donation you are able to give to get to Florida and have this major surgery.
If you knew me, you would see that I am a good person, trying very hard every day to keep positive and hopefully step forward to the next chapter in my life of gratitude and better health.
Thank you and God bless.
Sharon
