Hi, I’m Summer, and our family has a rambunctious 3-year-old dog named Saturn, who loves to run and jump with her humans. Saturn has torn her cranial cruciate ligament (CCL); in dogs, this is equivalent to the human ACL. When the CCL tears, the joint becomes unstable, leading to the tearing of the cartilage between the bones. Surgery is scheduled for 3 weeks from now, which is the first available appointment. Any help covering this unexpected expense is greatly appreciated. The recovery time from this kind of surgery is around six months, so we will have to be vigilant with the constant care she will need. Zoomies and jumping are her favorite pastimes, and we look forward to her full recovery. Any funds raised over the cost of surgery will be donated in Saturn's name to S.A.F.E, a non-profit that rescues animals from euthanasia kennels at local shelters.
