Hi, my name is Catherine and I've lived in my lil old house for nearly 30 years. I love my lil house dearly and she has kept me safe. Recently, however, the outside water pipe has collapsed and caused plumbing to malfunction. My house sits high off the street on top of a 10ft wall. The contractor I hired to fix the pipe dug up my yard only to discover the true extent of the damage. The pipe has collapsed and is clogged to the sewer. Getting an excavator to repair the pipes is going to cost nearly $15k because they need to dig out under the 10 ft wall and remove the sidewalk to get the pipe cleared to the sewer. I have spent $5k so far and when I was told the extent of the repairs would exceed $15k, I couldn't continue. I now have a huge hole in my front yard and the toilet flushes waste into this hole. I'm sure this is unsafe but I am at a loss without more funds. I have no family nearby and I'm a retired public servant living on a small pension. I've used my emergency funds and am in desperate need of help. Anything you might be able to donate would be greatly appreciated and put towards this repair. Thank you ever so much.
Update: I found a plumber willing to tackle this mess. He was able to remove enough of the clog to allow water to go through and let him put the pipes back together. (You can see this in the last photo). So, now I have limited toilet use...Yay!! However, he found sticks and stones lodged in the pipe that must be removed. So , we will need the excavator guy to dig out to the wall and continue to hope the problem is on this side of the wall.
Thank you so much to all who have donated and who may be following my story. I really appreciate your support
