Dear friends, as we celebrate our little Witch Shop entering its third year in our downtown location, we feel a deep sense of pride. However, alongside this joy, we must also address some unfortunate realities. We have experienced a break-in, an extreme amount of theft, attempted break-ins, and disturbing incidents of vandalism, particularly targeting our vibrant pentacle Witch Shop window. These events have deeply impacted our staff, readers and community.

On the night of October 11th, at approximately 11:18pm, an individual used a large stone to shatter our front window, causing extensive damage to several vintage display candles, breaking parts of an aloe vera plant, and cracking sections of "Herbert," our beloved goat-shaped aloe vera pot imported from Mexico. It's important to note that this was not a case of theft or an attempted break-in, but rather a senseless act of aggression aimed at our beliefs and way of life.

Eric and Alexis, the co-owners of City Alchemist, established the business using their personal funds and without seeking any external financial assistance. However, City Alchemist is currently in need of support from the community. We need to update our shop security, replace our twice-damaged back door, replace our beautiful front window with a strong and more durable glass, add more security cameras, install bars to our employee entrance and install a stronger security system.
