Hello, my name is Carlene, and I’m from Westmoreland, Jamaica. My family was recently devastated by Hurricane Melissa, which destroyed my elderly mother’s home. The storm caused severe flooding that damaged the house, furniture, clothes, and personal belongings. Sadly, my livestock also drowned, leaving us without a source of income or food.

My mother is elderly and has serious eye problems, making this loss even harder on her. She is currently staying with relatives for now, but it’s not a permanent situation. My greatest wish is to rebuild her home so she can return to a safe and comfortable place of her own.

I created this GoFundMe to ask for help repairing and rebuilding my mother’s house, and to replace some of what we’ve lost. Any donation, no matter the amount, will bring us one step closer to giving her back the security and peace she deserves.
