Help Us Save Our Family’s Home
Hi, my name is Morghan. My husband Triston, our sweet baby Nova, our cat Donut, and I are a young family trying to hold onto the first home we’ve ever owned, but right now, we’re in crisis.
Triston just returned from Army Reserve duty to find our home in chaos. Our basement, which doubles as our living room and family space , flooded with raw sewage due to severe sewage stoppage and potential breakage in the pipes under our front yard and driveway. The carpet is ruined, the drywall is torn up two feet high, and the space we built for our family to grow in has been left destroyed.
And just as we were trying to manage that disaster, our air conditioning system failed. With summer temperatures climbing dangerously high, we’re desperate to make our home safe for our toddler.
The repairs will cost $50,000, the bare minimum we need to:
Fix the sewage stoppage and prevent further flooding and damage ($30,000)
Install a new HVAC system to protect our baby from the summer heat ($20,000)
We’ve applied for payment plans, but even those are now more than we can manage. We’re terrified of a lien being placed on our home, and even more afraid of what could happen to our baby if we can’t restore a safe living space soon.
Triston is our family’s rock. He’s not only serving in the Army Reserves, he’s also the primary caregiver to our son because daycare is simply out of reach for us financially. We’re doing everything we can to make this work, but we’re up against a wall. Our home warranty and insurance won’t cover the damage outside the house, and nothing can move forward until the plumbing is fixed.
We don’t want to ask. But we need to. This home is more than four walls, it’s our first real chance at stability. Every donation, every share, every kind word brings us one step closer to saving the space where we raise our son, love our cat, and try to build a life.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
