Hi, my name is Gary Greff, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart, hoping you'll take a moment to hear our story.

My girlfriend, Kathy Loughmiller, and I—along with our loyal dog, Maverick—have hit a tough patch that we never saw coming. I'm retired and living on a fixed income through Social Security. On top of that, I deal with several health issues, including diabetes, heart problems, and I undergo dialysis twice a week.

On June 30, 2025, we discovered water pooling in our garage. What we thought was a small issue turned out to be a devastating water leak that led to serious mold and water damage beneath our home. When we turned to our insurance company for help, they denied our claim, saying the damage had been happening for a while—though we had no idea until that day.

Since then, life has been overwhelming. We’ve been without hot water. We’re trying to live safely in a home that’s no longer healthy. And the weight of it all—figuring out how to pay for repairs, stay safe, and stay afloat—has taken a real emotional toll on us.

We’re asking for your help to cover the cost of:

Emergency plumbing repairs

Mold and water damage remediation

A new roof

Materials and labor to make our home livable again
