Restore & ReOpen Gateway Cinema

Tax deductible
The Broward County Film Society, best known as the producers of The Fort Lauderdale Intl Film Festival (FLIFF), Savor Cinema Lauderdale, Cinema Paradiso Hollywood, and FLIFF OnLocation: Florida & The Bahamas...will restore and reopen Fort Lauderdale's famed movie palace, The Gateway Theater.  This, now 4-plex cinema, is 71 years old and hosted the World Premiere of WHERE THE BOYS ARE.

FLIFF is taking on quite a challenge.  Gateway closed due to COVID 19 In March 2020.  To reopen we must raise nearly a half a million dollars for the restoration, plus pay rent of $17K/month (and escalating annually).  We are looking to raise just a portion through GoFundMe.  FLIFF patron, Scott Bennett, began the campaign with $25K in seed money to make our acquisition of Gateway possible.  He was joined by FLIFF Board members, Janet Schwartz and Teri Pattullo who pitched in $5K each.
