Patricia Carbone has always been a bright light in her neighborhood. A few years ago, she created a community book library on her property in Poets Corner, Hartsdale, NY, inviting families to drop off and pick up books to share with their loved ones. About a year ago, Patricia added a sturdy bench next to the library, creating a welcoming spot for parents, grandparents, and children to sit together, read, and choose their next story. It quickly became a cherished part of the community, especially in the nice weather, where you could often see families enjoying a quiet moment together.

Recently, Patricia discovered that the reading bench had been stolen. The loss was deeply felt—not just by Patricia, but by everyone who had come to love that special place. The bench was heavy and would have required a big car or truck, and at least two people to move it. Patricia was heartbroken, especially that this happened around the holidays, but she still believes in Christmas miracles and hopes for kindness to return to her community.

Patricia has always given to others, even while facing her own health challenges. She goes out of her way to do the little things that make people feel happy and appreciated. Now, we have a chance to give back. The funds raised will be used to purchase a new bench and ensure it’s securely placed for everyone to enjoy once again.
