Hey everyone! This GoFundMe has been started in hopes to restore and preserve one of Lorain Counties most iconic privately owned landmarks. If you've ever been by our farm on Griggs Rd just south of Wellington, you know this barn quite well. Built in 1956, it was one of the very first round roof/hip roof barns built in Ohio. Although I have no direct proof, I would venture to guess this may also be one of the longest if not the longest barns of this kind built. There is a rich history of this barn for decades of passers-by enjoying its beauty and architectural uniqueness. On the east end of the barn there is even a quilt block that was featured on a county wide drive-it-yourself barn tour in the mid 2010's. After 70 years of standing tall on the southern reaches of Lorain County the barn roof is showing its age. The structural integrity of the roof and barn, that still houses our small herd of Holstein dairy cattle, is in dire need of immediate attention.

Now for the not-so-fun part. The restoration project to return this roof to safe and structurally sound is going to be as tall of an order as the barn itself. As many of you know, cashflow throughout agriculture is as low at it has ever been when compared to current input costs. My hope is that I can raise enough funds here to at least get the barn roof close to its original state while also providing reinforcement to the internal structure so this historic Lorain County landmark can be enjoyed for generations to come.
