Help Us Restore a Piece of North Tyler’s History
On June 28, 2025, a historic marker honoring Mr. Noble Earnest "Doc" Young and the legacy of Black-owned businesses and churches on “The Cut” was proudly unveiled in North Tyler. This powerful tribute was made possible by a private $7,000 donation from Former Judge Quincy Beavers, dedicated in memory of his mother, Ophelia Jeffery Daniels.
Tragically, the marker was recently struck and destroyed by a vehicle turning onto Palace Street.
We are now seeking to raise $7,000 to replace this important piece of history. This marker told a vital story about our community’s resilience, entrepreneurship, and leadership—it deserves to be preserved for generations to come.
Please help us honor Judge Beavers’ original vision and restore this legacy.
Every donation helps. Please give what you can and share this campaign.
Together, we can keep our history alive.
