My name is Hope, and I’m asking for help after a devastating tragedy.

Last Wednesday night, my family home was destroyed by a fire caused by a Nintendo Switch. The damage is catastrophic, and our lives have been turned upside down.

Just last year, we lost my mum unexpectedly. She left behind her husband, my older brother, and two children with complex needs. As a family, we were still trying to rebuild our lives and process that immense grief.

Now, we have lost everything.

The fire has taken all of our belongings—every bed, every piece of clothing, and all of the furniture in the home. Nothing is salvageable. The house itself is currently uninhabitable, and the family has been displaced. Heartbreakingly, the two children have even had to be separated because there is no safe place for them to stay together.

We are now facing overwhelming costs just to begin again—flooring, furniture, clothing, and essential household items. On top of that, we’ve been quoted £3,000 for specialist fire damage cleaning, which we simply cannot afford due to our current financial hardship. At the moment, we are unsure what support we will receive, and the uncertainty is incredibly difficult.

We are asking for any help you can give—no matter how small. Donations will go directly towards rebuilding a safe and stable home for this family.
