With over 6’ of flooding, Hurricane Helene has devastated my parents' home. It has only been exacerbated by the loss of vehicles. They cannot live on the land, so someone has to take them back and forth between wherever they are staying and the property.

My sister, who also lives there, is on disability and her vehicle (2006 Town and Country) was destroyed. Additionally, my parents' vehicle (2003 Mercury Grand Marquis) was also flooded and totaled. This money will be split between the two of them evenly to supplement the insurance payout. My parents received $2,076 for their car. I am not sure how much money we will get for my sister’s vehicle but are assuming a bit less. We are not asking for a new car, just enough to purchase a reliable used vehicle for each of them.
