Pictured above is Mischief, a towboat that is used by the San Francisco Sea Scouts . This is an amazing and long-standing San Francisco organization that teaches young scouts lifelong lessons about sailing, safety, leadership, friendship.
Mischief is an essential part of the Sea Scouts program. She is their primary safety boat, and is used to tow their sailing whaleboats. Mischief is the perfect size for the scouts - small enough for them to handle while providing an opportunity for them to learn about operating and maneuvering a motorboat, as well as repair and basic upkeep of a diesel engine. She has been on every summer cruise since she’s entered service with the SF Sea Scouts.
Last fall, Mischief came unmoored and sustained major damage to the hull, engine, and electrical systems. Because Mischief is not operational, the Sea Scouts cannot leave Aquatic Park as the winds are not reliable and the currents in the San Francisco Bay are too strong to venture out without a safety boat. They need the guidance of Mischief, and really want to continue with their valuable sailing and safety programs.
The San Francisco Sea Scouts are asking for your assistance to get Mischief back up and running, so that she can be put back into service for the Sea Scouts and used for many years to come. Please consider donating any amount for this very worthy cause.
We are working hard towards getting her back on the water in time for Summer Cruise, August 2018.
Thank you for your consideration. Any donation is very much appreciated and helps us with this very worthy cause.
Sincerely,
William Chang (parent of a current Sea Scout)
