Restore Mika's Olympic Hope After Palisades Fire Loss

Hey everyone,

I'm Mika, a 19-year-old sailor with a deep passion for the water. My biggest dream is to represent Team USA in the Nacra 17 class at the LA 2028 Olympics. I've been training relentlessly for years, pouring my heart and soul into this goal, and sacrificing so much along the way.

Last week, the Palisades Fire destroyed almost everything I own—my sails, hardware, clothing—years of hard work, saving, and fundraising, gone in an instant. It was devastating, to say the least.

Now, I’m facing a huge challenge. The money I had set aside for training camps, coaching, and competition travel is now being redirected to replace all the equipment I lost. This setback feels like a massive roadblock to my Olympic dream.

But I’m not giving up. My coach once told me, “When the wave gets stronger, the strong emerge.” And I believe that with the support of my amazing community, I can overcome this obstacle.
